Pray (imagine the impact on the world if we each prayed for peace every day).

Cultivate a peaceful mind and heart (see the Resources page for materials to aid our efforts).

Consider your approach to peace; support your beliefs by looking to models of peacemaking (e.g., Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandella, Martin Luther King, Jr., the Dalai Lama, Yitzhak Rabin and others).

Develop a "Violence Free Zone" in your home with your family; acquaint others with the importance of being peaceful in your space.

Educate yourself on the places and circumstances where peace is needed (i.e., international, domestic, statewide and local conflicts).

Join with other like-minded individuals (e.g. in EPF or other peace organizations; see the Links page for ideas).

Vote for peace.

March, protest, speak your mind.

Contact lawmakers and other government representatives (they work for you!).

Order a copy of The Little Book of Peace, by Patricia J. Chui, with anecdotes from well-known promoters of peace.

Suggestions on working for peace:

Waging peace takes many forms.  We may begin with ourselves and work outward, or both simultaneously.  As Christians, we are transformed by the the spirit of Christ.  We are each called according to our circumstances and our nature.

Mother Teresa said, “Every act of love is a work of peace, no matter how small.”  Starting with this understanding, we might move into further acts of peace as we feel called.  Below are a few suggestions.

We invite you to join with EPF Colorado in our efforts to promote peace.  If you’d like  to get involved, please e-mail or call for information (see the Contact page).
